Premium Merlot fruit was sourced from low yielding old vines grown in the gravelly loam soils of Manjimup, Western Australia. After maturation in 30% new French oak for six months, this wine shows the classic pedigree of a full bodied Merlot designed for ageing. Rich fruit cake, plum spice, dark fruits and confectionery conserve aromas combined with sweet toasty oak complexity. A sweet brooding palate is concentrated and balanced by fine tannins and vanillin oak spice. This wine will reward cellaring.
